Abstract

Tension-type headache is the most frequent primary headache and, in its chronic form, generates significant disability. A lot of pharmacological therapies have been tried, but in many cases, there is resistance to treatment. In the pathophysiology of tension headache, both central and peripheral mechanisms are involved, which can potentially be modified by non-pharmacological and neuromodulation techniques.
