Abstract
This chapter details the research partners’ recollections of their interactions with and within specific normalized educational spaces. Most felt unsafe at school due to bullying and restriction of gender expression. However, they were empowered in locations where they felt free to express themselves, where they excelled academically, or where they sought retaliation against bullies. The partners discussed their main classrooms, specials classrooms, and the larger school environment. Although all had unique experiences, themes were present. Art class, music class, and the library were recalled favorably, while the gymnasium, cafeteria, bathrooms, and principal’s office were often locations of contention.
