Abstract

RP allowed postalveolar /r/ to form clusters with the alveolar stops /t/ and /d/, but not with the postalveolar stops /tʃ/ and /dʒ/. Many speakers now use all-postalveolar clusters: /tʃr/, /dʒr/.
