Abstract
The necessary time for the change from an analog radiologic imaging system to a PAC-system will be long in most hospitals. The turnover probably happens through the normal renewal of instrumentations over several years. The exceptions are only experimental and totally new X-ray departments. It is therefore clearly profitable to invest new X-ray Instrumentation while keeping in mind their connection to existing and near future PAC-systems although many questions are still open.
