Pharmaceutical Aspects of Combination Vaccines

  • Chapter
Combination Vaccines

Abstract

In 1990, the Children’ s Vaccine Initiative (CVI) issued a challenge to vaccine developers and manufacturers (1). The challenge was to combine all childhood vaccines into a single dose, preferably oral, and to formulate the multidisease combination to be stable at ambient temperature. Heroic efforts will be required to accomplish this objective, but this is a task well worth pursuing.
