Getting Started with Kubernetes

  • First Online:
Cloud Native Applications with Docker and Kubernetes

Abstract

Before we start covering the theory of Kubernetes in Chapter 8, this chapter will get you up and running with a real, live Kubernetes cluster. If I start talking about Kubernetes theory first, it tends to be pretty meaningless. If you start with some concrete Kubernetes usage, then, when I start talking about the theory, you will have a more concrete grasp of how things go together.

Notes

  1. 1.

Note that these are themselves likely to be Virtual Machines, not bare-metal hardware. However, the point is that they represent some real resource the cluster has available to it.
