Abstract
We offer a tentative contribution to the solution of problems that involve the use of nonstationary fields, based on the idea that the light spectrum of a nonstationary source can be considered an ensemble of correlated monochromatic components. We then apply this idea, considering that a reciprocal correspondence exists for the coherence of light in the space-time domain and the coherence of the monochromatic components of a source in the space-frequency domain.
