Abstract
Maple has many built-in ‘black boxes’ for the simplification of algebraic expressions, solution of algebraic and calculus problems, standard manipulations from calculus, manipulations from the calculus of finite differences, solution of linear algebra problems, and evaluation of functions. This chapter examines some of the most useful of these black boxes.
