Abstract
This section will provide us with a first look at some aspects of linear algebra. One can study differential equations without knowing anything about linear algebra, but the study is so much more productive if you are aware of linear algebra as new ideas are introduced. There will still be plenty left over to study in a linear algebra course, but you will know some of the central ideas when we have finished. Topics from linear algebra will occur at several places in the chapters that follow.
