Abstract
The eyes of deep-sea teleost fishes show a number of peculiar features, some of which appear restricted to few or even single species, while others occur more widely among fishes of diverse kinds. In some cases the adaptations may be tentatively correlated with depth, but in others there is no clear association with the habitat.
