Abstract
The understanding of non-leptonic kaon decays has proved to be a rather difficult problem in particle physics. Although the overall theoretical picture seems rather sound, the explanation of the ΔI = 1/2 rule and an accurate quantitative evaluation of CP violation in kaon systems are still lacking. In particular, the prediction (postdiction) of the CP violation parameters (ε and ε′) would allow us to probe still-hidden low-energy sectors of the theory, the top quark for example, and the physics beyond the Standard Model.
