Abstract
The extraordinary diversity of new observations and experiments that were presented during this Symposium attest to the vigor and creativity of contemporary research on polyamines. The ever-increasing influx into our field of highly talented young investigators is particularly encouraging. In the restricted time available it would be impossible to comment on most of the outstanding advances announced at this meeting. So I shall consider only very few topics, the choice of which is heavily biased by my personal scientific interests and experiences.
