Abstract
Absorption structure around the K-shell and L-shell ionization threshold for low-Z elements has evoked considerable interest in recent years becuase of the observation that remarkably strong features occur both below and above the photoionization threshold energy. We present here a brief summary of the results obtained for the absorption fine-structure around the oxygen K-edge in gases, crystals and polymers.
