Abstract
When determining the type of equipment for the production of sugar cane and delivering it to the mill, the objective should be to keep the energy requirements to a minimum. Because operational efficiency is affected by a number of factors, the cost of owning and operating equipment can vary quite widely. The type of work the unit performs, such as light, medium and heavy workloads, prices of fuel and lubricants, the efficiency of the tractor maintenance function and the competence of operators are some of such factors
