Left Ventricular Dysfunction in End-Stage Renal Disease: Echocardiographic Insights

  • Chapter

Part of the book series: Topics in Renal Medicine ((TIRM,volume 10))

Abstract

Cardiovascular complications are the principal cause of death in dialysis patients. Records of the European Dialysis and Transplant Association [1] show that 52.1% of such patients die from cardiovascular complications, with left ventricular insufficiency and coronary insufficiency being the most frequent causes.
