Abstract
Can Nature be understood on the basis of logic? Physics teaches us that the answer is, to a great extent, “yes,” and that the relevant logic includes a great deal of mathematics. The quantitative laws of physics are expressed by mathematical equations, whose symbols are directly or indirectly related to the numerical results of measurements.
