Summary
Before discussing the specifics of genetically engineered foods, I would like to give an overview of regulation as applied to all foods. Food legislation in Australia is generally considered to fall within the legislative responsibilities of the States and Territories and each State and Territory Government is responsible for food sold within its boundaries.
