Abstract

T-pads are useful in so-called matched impedance transmission systems to insert attenuation without upsetting the normal impedance relationships. The symmetrical T-pad can be designed for a given loss while maintaining the design impedance value looking into the pad as well as looking into the adjacent inputs and outputs of other equipment. The arrows in the schematic of Figure 109 make this clear.
