Abstract
This is first survey ever undertaken which links the attitudes towards smoking of very young children, aged three to five years, with those of their parents. There has been no information about our very young nursery aged children who have previously been excluded and overlooked from almost all existing research(1). From their early years children acquire knowledge about the world from what they see and hear around them. This research looked at just how much information three to five year olds picked up about smoking; previously it can only be assumed that adult smoking behaviour was not thought to impinge upon the lives of pre-school children.
