Abstract
During the past century the percentage of women older than 50 years of age has tripled. In the same time period, the mean life expectancy of women has increased from 50 to 81.7 years. Menopause offers the primary care health provider an opportunity to assess a woman’s health, her concerns, and her needs for health promotion and disease prevention measures.
