Abstract
Fore and hind milk vary in total fat content1. The suckling stimulus is known to increase the lipid content of milk within a feeding. We investigated the influence of the suckling stimulus in determining the composition of fatty acids in human milk, comparing the right and left breasts from lactation day 15 to 90, according to the suckling pattern established by the infant.
