XML Schema is a schema language that allows the constraint of documents and provides type information about parts of the XML document. It is defined in a World Wide Web Consortium recommendation [24142,24143,3]. The current version is 1.0.
Unlike document type descriptions (DTDs) that have been defined in the XML recommendation [4], XML Schema is using an XML based vocabulary to describe the schema constraints.
A schema describes elements and attributes and their content models and types. It provides for complex types that describe the content model of elements and simple types that describe the type of attributes and leaf element nodes.
