Abstract
For a given body and timeframe, internal (volcano-tectonic, chemical, or thermonuclear), external (erosional/depositional or rotational), or combined processes may dominate in shaping global maxima or minima surface features, which act as constant-scale boundaries and terrane edges. CSNB mapping has now been used to produce global maps of bodies lying on a continuum between externally and internally controlled surface morphology (Clark 2002, 2003, 2004a, 2004b, 2005, 2007, 2011; Clark and Clark 2005, 2006, 2007, 2009, 2010; Clark et al. 2006a, b, 2007).
