Abstract

Forward-looking imaging plays a significant role in navigation, self-landing, etc. In this chapter, an improved monopulse forward-looking imaging algorithm is presented. Firstly, the angle of the target is estimated by monopulse angle measurement. Secondly, the radar return energy is placed to the azimuth bin indicated by the estimate angle. Then, upon completion of beam scan, a high-resolution image is gained. Finally, the mask technique is used to make the target’s boundary clear. Simulation results validate the effectiveness of this algorithm.
