Thyroid Ultrasound and Ultrasound-Guided FNA

Abstract

An excellent ultrasound examination may come to naught if the ultrasound report is deficient. Extracting all the useful information from an ultrasound study and presenting it in a cohesive, concise manner is a skill that one develops with practice over time. As the science advances to include elastography, incorporating data from biometric material obtained by UGFNA to formulate decision making, and ultrasound-guided PEI and other ablative procedures; ultrasound reports will need to be expanded. Developing a firm foundation in writing reports is essential. In this chapter we have attempted to outline our approach to writing an informative, constructive, and practical report.
