Abstract
Enterolysis is indicated for acute cases of complete small bowel obstruction. It is frequently performed as an incidental procedure when the previously operated abdomen must be reentered. This chapter details basic principles essential for successful surgery to repair intestinal obstruction, and focuses on avoiding dangerous pitfalls.
