Abstract

In this chapter the various types of radioactive wastes are briefly described. Specifically, high-level waste (HLW), spent uranium rod fuel (SURF), cladding wastes (CW), transuranic wastes (TRU) and low-level wastes (LLW) are introduced in terms of their radioactive components, sites of generation, and some other features.
