Abstract

The Peru coastal waters, located on the eastern side of the Pacific Ocean between 3°30′S-18°30′S, part of the anticyclonic gyre, are of great interest due to the conspicuous features of upwelling and El Niño. They have a marine life rich in species and with the greatest single fishery in the world.
