Abstract
Of the patients entering hospital following spinal cord injury, 10%–20% have other serious injuries. This is particularly so if the patient was in a motor accident and was seated in the front of the vehicle where the risk of further injuries to the motor skeletal system, the thoracic cage, and skull is greater.
