Abstract
A physician advises a harried executive with hypertension to switch to a job with fewer deadlines and less work pressure. A vocational counselor recommends that a shy, introverted student apply for a job in a company in which co-workers are friendly and managers are supportive. A pediatrician suggests that an underdeveloped, neglected child be sent to a foster home. A social worker attempts to place a mildly hyperactive child with structured rather than unstructured adoptive parents.
