Abstract

Relapsing fever, an acute febrile infectious disease caused by spirochetes of the genus Borrelia, is clinically characterized by recurrent episodes of fever and apyrexia. The disease caused by these spirochetes may be divided into an epidemic form, which is louse borne, and an endemic form, which is tick borne.1
