Abstract
The literature concerning the biology of schizophrenia pertains almost exclusively to schizophrenia with adolescent or adult onset. Several recent publications on the biology, psychophysiology, and psychoneuroimmunology of schizophrenia in older adolescents and adults are available.1-4 The relative paucity of biological data on children appears to result from both the rarity of schizophrenia with childhood onset and the increased difficulties in undertaking research with children.
