Abstract
The borer Epinotia aporema (Walsingham) (Lepidoptera: Olethreutidae) has a wide distribution in the American Continents. It has been recorded from southern United States to Argentina including Mexico, Costa Rica, Guatemala, Peru, Uruguay (Clark 1954), Chile (Olalquiaga Fauré 1953), and Brazil (Biezanko 1961). In Brazil E. aporema causes damage to soybean from the southernmost state of Rio Grande do Sul to the state of Goias, located in the central part of the country.
