Process, Organizational, and Electronic Diagrams

Abstract

This chapter presents several miscellaneous types of illustrations commonly used in our modern industrial and technological world. They have been grouped for discussion purposes here under the special names of process, organizational, and electronic diagrams. Some of them may not look very different one from another, their information may not be distinctly unique, and their names are often confusing and overlapping. We see these diagrams in nearly every publication and certainly encounter them in every type of work situation, from research to manufacturing to management. In every other textbook on illustrations, diagrams with these kinds of information are usually given very little consideration and are, more often than not, completely ignored. The aim of this chapter is to correct that oversight.
