Abstract

In this chapter we derive two important formulas D1 and D2 which form the basis of the Wexler-Raz results on existence and construction of dual functions and biorthogonals in Chapter 13.

  • In the early 1960s an extensive research effort in the radar community resulted in a large body of results on the ambiguity function and especially on the ambiguity surface [46–50]. The main result of this chapter is a special case of one of these results whose aim was to provide sufficient information to characterize a signal in terms of its ambiguity surface. The general project was unsuccessful. A continuous version of formulas Dl and D2 can be found in [53].
