Abstract
Several authors have enthusiastically argued that a decrease in binge activity after antidepressants supports claims for a common origin to bulimia and affective disorder. The perils of such an argument are well illustrated in the model of diuretic treatment for congestive heart failure (CHF). Using the above logic, CHF would then be a disorder of renal origin.
