Temporal Approach to Corrugator Laser Ablation

  • Chapter
Endoscopic Plastic Surgery

Abstract

The use of standard bicoronal and hairline brow-lift incisions are effective in elevating the eyebrows and providing direct access to the frontalis and corrugator supercilii muscles. However, these large incisions have several drawbacks. First, the scars are unacceptably visible in women with thin hair and in men with male pattern baldness. Second, there can be prolonged numbness of the scalp vertex. Third, patients are often reluctant to accept a scar from ″ear to ear.″
