Abstract

The fact that the anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) is the most commonly reconstructed ligament in the human body has led to a high prevalence in the general population. Since this has addressed the physically active adults, an inherent result has been a rising incidence in the requirement of revision surgery. The shift from the transtibial vertical reconstructions, as well as the popularization of ACL reconstructions in emerging markets has led to many variables and challenges regarding the surgical techniques, outcomes and resource utilization.
