Abstract

The assessment of outcomes after any type of surgery can be categorized in a variety of different ways. Simply put, the outcome of a procedure can be anything that is measured or observed. It can range from something as simple as measuring shoulder range of motion using a goniometer in a single plane, to a complex, multifaceted, disease-specific, health-related quality-of-life outcome questionnaire.
