Abstract

This benign bone tumor, arising from the medullary fat tissue is, on the whole, a very rare bone lesion, but it does occur in children. Lipoma is an absolutely benign lesion that develops slowly in the medullary cavity of a bone, with proliferation of the marrow fat tissue and usually inducing a clearly demarcated “bone cyst”. No clinical symptoms result, and mostly the lesion is detected by chance.
