The Person Behind the Syndrome

Abstract

RILEY-DAY syndrome, or familial dysautonomia, manifests with defective tearing, skin blotching, excessive sweating, postural hypotension and emotional lability. Inheritance is autosomal recessive and the condition predominates in persons of Ashkenazi Jewish stock.
