Abstract
In the 1990s cordless personal telecommunications has begun to emerge in Europe as a mass market, attracting a large number of customers and suppliers of equipment and services. It is therefore not surprising that on the international playgrounds the creation of binding standards has been one of the prime activities in preparation for this growth.
