Abstract

It is important to have access through the Web to the “Bayou State Periodical Index”, which is a subject guide to Louisiana periodicals published by the Edith Garland Dupre Library, University of Louisiana at Lafayette. The Dublin Core metadata element set is a core set in the sense that it is a small number of elements, judged to have general applicability that will be universally understood if the standard is followed.

In this paper, we discuss interfacing the citation information used inDupre Library to a search engine, which gives the user access from any web browser. The Dublin Core metadata element set has been used for each citation entry.
