Abstract
Many years ago, a number of new Internet businesses were created to sell books on-line. Over time, they collected information about the books that each of their customers were buying. Using association analysis, they were able to identify groups of books that customers with similar interests seem to have been buying. Using this information, they were able to develop recommendation systems that informed their customers that other customers who purchased some book of interest also purchased other related books.
