Abstract
In a continuing effort to understand both the molecular enzymology and the cell physiology of poly (ADP-Ribose) polymerase, we have been developing a new class of enzyme inhibitors. We describe in this chapter some new enzyme inhibitors which are competitive inhibitors of the enzyme, but are also constructed so that they can react covalently with the enzyme protein to form covalent products. Such compounds should be of use in identifying the residues at or near the active site of the enzyme.
