Abstract

There has been a rapid growth of social networks around the world—for example, at the time of writing, The Economist reported that there are 400 million people on Facebook (see http://economist.com/specialreports, and look for the report about social networking). But there’s still a tendency for people to keep to their own language groups—except for the small number of people who are bilingual.
