Abstract

Open on a shot of an empty alley behind a CompUSA computer store. A girl in a hoody and a beefy guy roar up on a motorcycle. They stop next to an overflowing Dumpster and the camera zooms in on the action. The girl gets off the bike and climbs into the Dumpster. She takes off her top, her pants, throws her panties to someone off camera. She starts pulling out reams of paper: credit-card numbers, order slips, secret passwords. She’s hit the jackpot. The gist of this scene, an odd mix of soft porn and heavy-duty computer crime, is that hacking is so easy that even a naked girl can do it. She’s Dumpster Diving, hunting down valuable information that has been inadvertently thrown away.
