Abstract

We’re going to ease you into the book with some general information about the Internet and World Wide Web; this will lay a foundation of useful knowledge to help you as you begin to create your own web pages with HTML and CSS. This chapter won’t be a comprehensive overview by any means, but it will get you up to speed on some of the terminology and concepts you’ll need to be familiar with throughout the rest of this book. If you feel you’re already pretty web-savvy, having used and worked with websites for some time, you can probably skip ahead to Chapter 2 and start getting your hands dirty.
