Abstract

In the previous chapter, you were introduced to a number of core constructs of the C# language and the .NET platformas well as select types within the System namespace. Here, you will spend your time digging deeper into the details of object-based development. I begin with a review of the famed “pillars of OOP” and then examine exactly how C# contends with the notions of encapsulation, inheritance, and polymorphism. This will equip you with the knowledge you need in order to build custom class hierarchies.
