Summary

In this chapter, you have learned how to create build types, which can be used to build a project, run specified tests against a project, and publish those results to a project SharePoint site. You have also seen how to view the results of the build and learned what the results indicate in terms of code churn, what was tested, code coverage, and whether any errors occurred. Finally, you learned how the build process can be customized and how to run nightly builds using the command-line tools to build a project and schedule a project.

The bottom line is that using the built-in build tools provides a project team immediate feedback as to whether anything is broken and how much code has been tested from one build to another. This provides customers with good feedback as to the progress of the development team and will give them confidence in the development team.
